The Herndon-Edwards Band
The Herndon-Edwards Band was one of the most popular bands in Hampton Roads during the 1970's and early 1980's. Their original songs, instrumentation, classic covers, and smooth harmonies gained them a loyal following which still exists to this day.
Their album - "Travelin' All Over" - contains some of the best known area compositions from both David Edwards and Gerry Herndon. It was recorded at Tracks Studio in Silver Spring, MD in 1978.
The original members of the band are:
David Edwards: Electric Guitar; Acoustic Guitar; Vocals
Gerry Herndon: Electric Guitar; Acoustic Guitar, Vocals
Robert Sweitzer: Bass
Steve Fletcher: Drums; Vocals
As the time grew closer to going into the studio, the band added Tom Farley (Acoustic Guitar; Background Vocals) and Donnie Satterwhite (Pedal Steel Guitar; Keyboards) to round out the studio and live performance sound.
The band members continue to play and/or record as individuals...with band reunions from time to time.
